Choice and Flexibility: Rich Professional Experiences
Curate your BMC degree according to your career choice with a choice of four specialisations (Media and Communication; Screen studies; Journalism; and PR), a big range of double degrees and electives, and the opportunity to fast track to a higher qualification with a bachelor and master’s degree. Throughout the BMC curriculum, professional experiences are integrated within all the Units. BMC offers purposefully created curriculum; tailored ways to equip you with the necessary leadership, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to transition smoothly from academic to professional journey. In a structured way, we offer a series of possibilities; a diversity of offerings, that works for you in a customized way. BMC labs in particular aim to offer a supportive, experimental environment where you will be introduced to digital media theory and practice.
A Global and Intercultural Media Education
Integral to BMC is its global and intercultural approach. BMC includes the award-winning Global Immersion program (GIG) – an opportunity to spend two weeks studying in China, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia or The Pacific Islands, with airfares and accommodation covered as part of your degree. BMC degree ensures students have the intercultural skills to thrive in globalised workplaces and communities.
International opportunities
There are opportunities for student exchanges and internships, for international scholarships and study trips. Students wishing to explore opportunities abroad are supported and encouraged.

Social and Professional Environment
BMC provides networking opportunities through collaborations with media professionals and industry experts. We organize and host special industry events and create opportunities for students to learn, share and showcase their own work.
The 2021 BMC Public Student Screenings
Monash Media, Film and Journalism students have a professional media environment right on campus - the Monash Media Lab, a facility consisting of:
- two radio and sound production studios with a control-room/audio production and teaching suites;
- an open-plan newsroom;
- editing suites;
- a broadcast TV and video production studio;
- a TV control room; and
- two teaching laboratories
