Upon graduation you will have the knowledge and skills required to become a registered nurse. You can choose to work in a number of specialty areas of health services – such as acute care, paediatrics and medical-surgical nursing.
You’ll think like a nurse from day one of your degree. With clinical placement from the first semester, you’ll be able to apply your new classroom knowledge directly into supervised practice. Get practical evidence based nursing experience at some of Victoria’s leading hospitals and health services.
During your placements, you’ll experience life as a nurse in a range of settings such as acute medical and surgical wards, mental health, and community.
Successful completion of the course will lead to eligibility for registration as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) subject to the graduate also meeting the current NMBA Registration standard: English language skills. Registration with the NMBA is a legal requirement for practising as a registered nurse in Australia.
