The Bachelor of Information Technology is about the application of computer-based technologies and systems to meet individual and organisational information needs. The course will enable you to gain the knowledge and skills needed to use IT effectively and to use, develop and manage IT-based systems. It is a highly practical course that will prepare you for a career working with information and IT in business, government and industry.
The course covers a wide range of aspects of IT, from technical computing, which focuses on the technology itself, games and interactive media to information and business-related themes, which focus on information needs and the way in which IT can be used to support them. In addition to core studies in fundamental IT concepts, the course allows you to develop specialised expertise in software development.
Knowledge and skills in IT coupled with the emphasis on generic skills problem solving, information literacy, communication and presentation skills, project management skills, and the capacity for team work will ensure that you have a firm foundation for a career in IT and/or software development.

You need to satisfy the following entrance requirements to be considered for entry to this course.
Minimum Entry Requirements (Domestic students)
Qualifications
All Monash undergraduate courses require you to have successfully completed a minimum of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) and achieve the required academic entry score. Most Monash faculties generally use your most recent studies for admission however other guidelines may apply where your prior qualification may be considered.
Entry requirements for each qualification level are as follows:
Academic entry requirements
- SMA 3 (Grade 12) - 100% scale (60% pass): Overall average of 75%, or
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Minimum score of 26, or
- GCE A Level examination: Total score of 8, or
- SAT - Total score out of 1600: Minimum score of 1160, or
- Higher Secondary Pass Certificate (also known as Higher Secondary Examination Pass Certificate)*: Overall average of 65%
*must be awarded by the Board of Secondary Education Indian Schools Indonesia, Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia, and only applicable to Indian schools in Indonesia.

Language of instruction
You can meet English entry requirements if you have completed half a year of full time study (equivalent to 24 Monash credit points) at Australian VET Diploma (AQF level 5) or higher (or equivalent) at an institution where English is the language of instruction, communication and assessment for all aspects of study for the whole of the educational institution.
You may be required to submit documentary evidence in the form of an official letter from the institution at which the study was completed. This document must be written and signed by the institution’s registrar (or other authorised person of the institution).

Note: To earn a bachelor’s degree, you must complete 144 credit points, which is equivalent to an S1 qualification in Indonesia.

You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.

Fees
The annual tuition fee for the bachelor’s program is IDR 200 million for Indonesian students and IDR 224 million for international students. If transferring to Monash University Australia, fees will follow Monash University Australia’s tuition rates.
