Help shape the global money markets with a Master of Advanced Finance.
The Master of Advanced Finance is for recent graduates or professionals already working in the finance industry. The course provides an opportunity to study the latest theories, practices and models that will shape the future of the sector.
As part of this degree, you’ll gain advanced insight into global financial markets, funds management, financial planning, money market dealing and business forecasting. Your studies will also have an ethics, environmental and corporate social responsibility focus.
The degree offers practical ways to apply your knowledge through the trading simulation programs run at Monash STARLab. You can also choose to undertake a research pathway, which can act as a pathway to a PhD.
The program is a CFA program partner of the CFA Institute, which awards the international Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Entry Requirements
You need to satisfy the following entrance requirements to be considered for entry to this course.
Minimum Entry Requirements (Domestic students)
Qualifications
Entry level 1: | An Australian bachelor's degree with a major in finance; or an Australian bachelor degree with significant work experience in the finance industry; or an equivalent qualification. Applicants will be ranked accordingly based on their entire academic record, and a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 is preferred. Students wishing to undertake the research pathway must maintain at least a 80 WAM and be accepted for entry by the Course Coordinator and the Higher Degrees Research Director. |
Entry level 2: | An Australian undergraduate honours degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a WAM of 65, or qualification/experience or a satisfactory substitute that the faculty considers to be equivalent, which has not been used as a basis for entry. |

The course is structured in two parts: Part A. Mastery knowledge and Part B. Application studies. All students complete Part A. Depending upon prior qualifications, you may receive credit for Part B.

You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.
