In this degree, you'll learn to apply technology to solve real-world problems, whether that's creating games, uncovering insights from data, designing AI-powered solutions, developing software, protecting organisations from cyber threats or helping businesses embrace new technologies. This course is all about applying digital technologies and systems to solve individual, organisational and societal challenges. You'll develop the knowledge and practical skills to design, build and manage technology that makes a difference.
The flexibility of this degree, with its broad range of majors and free electives, allows you to explore emerging areas, build on your strengths and tailor your studies to your interests. You can specialise in areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, computer science, software development, games and immersive media, data science and business AI systems. Following core studies in programming, computing systems, data management and artificial intelligence, you'll pursue a specialist pathway through one of nine future-focused majors. You can also broaden your studies through free electives, including the opportunity to complete a second major or minor.
The technical expertise you gain, combined with professional skills such as problem-solving, communication, teamwork, project management and critical thinking, will prepare you for a wide range of careers across the technology sector.
If you're eligible, you can also apply for the highly regarded Industry-Based Learning (IBL) program, where you'll complete a placement with a leading organisation and apply your skills in a professional environment while earning credit towards your degree.

There are many ways to be considered for entry to a Monash University degree depending on your educational background and history. Partner with another course
Double degree courses allow you to study towards two different degrees at the same time, and graduate with two separate qualifications. And because a required subject in one course can count as an elective in the other, our double degrees take up to two years less than if you studied for the two degrees separately.
