This is a prestigious program in medical research for high achieving students who are currently undertaking, or have completed, a relevant undergraduate medical degree. You will undertake research methodology training and carry out an independent research project on your selected topic, working closely with a supervisor who will provide you with individual guidance and academic counselling. The course offers a pathway to higher level research in medicine.

Minimum Entry Requirements (International students)
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Currently enrolled in a medical degree and successfully completed one of the following with at least an equivalent Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60% (a Monash credit average):
three or more years of the Direct entry Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at Monash University
OR
two or more years of the Graduate entry Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at Monash University
OR
- currently enrolled in a national or international medical degree that is accredited by an agency that is recognised by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME, Accreditation - The World Federation for Medical Education) and have completed study which is the equivalent of at least 3 years of the Monash undergraduate entry Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine program with equivalent curriculum content, learning outcome and academic standards as determined by the Faculty
OR
Graduated with a medical degree from a recognised medical program that is accredited by an agency that is recognised by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME, Accreditation - The World Federation for Medical Education)
with a WAM of at least 60%
OR
- at least two years of clinical training after graduation from their medical degree

Fitness for practice and professionalism
To complete your course, you are required to demonstrate that you meet fitness for practice expectations. Fitness for practice is part of the assessment in all units in this course. If you don't meet the fitness for practice expectations you will receive a fail mark for the unit and be required to repeat the unit before you can progress to the next year level of the course. In some circumstances, not meeting fitness for practice requirements can lead to exclusion from the course. Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning.
