Link to Moodle

Echo360 Learning Capture is integrated with Moodle, allowing easy access to lecture recordings in your Moodle unit. A learning capture link will automatically be added to the Unit Information section. You will need to manually link the tool to your Moodle unit.

Switch Edit mode ON(Blue) in the top right corner.
Navigate to the Unit information tab.
Scroll down to the Learning capture link. Click on the three dots and select Edit settings.
In the Monash Assessment section, select No for "Does this activity contribute to the final grade of the unit?"
In the Special consideration section, select No for "Is special consideration available/applicable?" and No for "Is this a graded activity that contributes to the final mark?"
Click Save and display.

Note: When you first click into the activity, it may seem to give an error. Once you click Save and display, when you click on the activity again, you will see the usual Echo360 linking screen.

1. Click the Echo360 external tool link.
2. You will be taken to the Connect your Echo360 Content window.
  - In step 1, use the search bars and drop-down lists on the window that appears to find the Term and Course.
  - In step 2, use the dropdown list in Section to link to your unit.
  - In step 3, select Section home.
3. Click Connect. Your Moodle unit is now linked to the corresponding Echo360 Section
  Note: If you cannot see any options under section, your unit may not have scheduled recorded teaching activities (eg. tutorials, workshops). If your unit does have scheduled recorded teaching activities, contact the Scheduling Team to enable Echo recording.
If a link to the Echo360 section does not already exist, you need to create one (as above steps).
Linking to individual Classes requires you to create Echo360 External Tool links for each week.
1. Log into Moodle and navigate to your unit
2. Click the Echo360 tool link you’ve already added to your Moodle unit. You will be taken to the Connect your Echo360 Content window
3. Select Link to a Classroom
4. Select the class you want to link to and then click Link content
5. You can continue these steps for the following weeks.
Moodle units can be linked to one or more Learning Capture sections. This simplifies the process for setting up units sharing jointly taught activities.
For example, Unit ABC1234 needs to be linked to its own Learning Capture section as well as a section jointly taught with unit DEF5678.
In the Moodle unit page for ABC1234:
1. Create an External Tool link.
2. Link it to the Echo360 section for ABC1234 and save it.
  
  Underneath this, create another External Tool, link this one to the section for the jointly taught activity, which is the two unit names joined by an underline, ABC1234_DEF5678_S2_2017 and save this one too.
3. If the unit DEF5678 requires access to the jointly taught activities as well, repeat the process for that unit’s Moodle page
4. Remember that jointly taught Sections are named after the alphabetically earliest unit name and can be found under that Course. For example, our jointly taught section will list under ABC1234, not DEF5678
