Grade using Moodle rubrics
Rubrics can help you clarify performance expectations from students in their assessment task. This makes the task less ambiguous, easier to interpret and ensures greater reliability among different markers.
Marking guides and rubrics should be made available for students to view. By drawing your students' attention to the grading criteria prior to assignment submission, they're more likely to meet expectations for the assignment.
NoteIt is recommended that when using a rubric for marking, include a 0-points option in your rubric. If you are using a criterion without a 0-points option or with negative points, these values will be reflected in the student’s grade directly. For example, if your rubric has three criteria each with a minimum value of one mark, the lowest score students will be able to achieve is 3. To rescale grades so that the minimum achievable grade for the rubric is zero under Rubric options, untick the checkbox for Calculate grade having a minimum score of the minimum achievable grade for the rubric. |
