Use the Outcomes setting in Moodle
The outcomes setting in Moodle allows for specific descriptions of what a student has demonstrated and understood at the completion of an activity. Each outcome (or competency) is rated by a predetermined scale.
What can you do through the use of the Outcomes setting?
Outcomes assess specific levels of knowledge through a series of statements that can be coded with numbers or letters across multiple assessment pieces and activities. Thus an overall grade can be given to students in a unit in addition to providing them with statements about the specific competencies or outcomes that a student has achieved.
Outcomes can be used to assess levels of knowledge or abstract skills, like problem solving or an ability to synthesise, by using a series of performance level statements, such as ‘developing’, ‘demonstrated’ and ‘mastered’.
Why would you use the Outcomes setting?

By using the Outcome setting, you can enrich your assessment and You can use the outcomes to enrich the way you design assessment for your students and shift students’ focus from their grade and the recall of content towards the development of their skills.
