How to support your students

  • Be specific about the purpose of the ePortfolio and allow for discussion so that students can understand the reasoning.
  • Develop clear guidelines and instructions. Let students know what they need to do and what the deadlines are.
  • Embed peer feedback. This gives students the opportunities to give and receive peer feedback which will improve learning outcomes.
  • Educate students that feedback quality varies, train them how to rate peers with constructive feedback and how to critically evaluate and incorporate feedback received.
  • Follow-up with opportunities for students to reflect on their portfolio.
