This timeline includes the release of key features in Moodle 4.1 as they become available. Many features will populate automatically and minimise the manual work required to set up a unit.

July 2023: Moodle 4.1 becomes available (staff only)
This appears to be a small release but a lot of groundwork is being laid for later automations from September.
Key features
Section Overviews can now be completed.

Aug - Oct 2023: Pre-semester 1 units are migrated from 3.9 to 4.1 and aligned with the Monash standard unit templates
Units offered in the following teaching periods are migrated from 3.9 to 4.1 and aligned with new templates ready for academic review

Many automated functions will be added in this release, as well as the addition of the Monash Project unit template. Additional learning sections added for optional use.
No week/topic/module prefix and no section numbering displayed to allow more flexible Learning Section structures.
Schedule and Assessment tabs can be hidden to support self paced or non graded Moodle units.
Schedule information is not dynamically populated.

What you will see
Unit Synopsis and Learning Outcomes are automatically added in the appropriate sections on the Unit information tab.
The currentFocus Section will be highlighted in the Learning tab. This is based on the assigned dates.
All Assessments with a non-zero weighting will appear in the Assessments tabfor newly created units. Note that previously created units will see this feature from the 20th of October.
New hidden sectionsappear on the Learning tab: Getting started, During the break, Additional Information and Resources, and Staff resources for newly created units. Note that previously created units will see this feature from the 27th of October.
Acknowledgment of country added to Unit Dashboard visible to Australian users only.
